You do not need the updater if you just downloaded the free demo. The demo is already the latest version.

You can check which version you have by clicking on 'About' under Icon Poet's Help menu.

Updating does not affect the words directory, so any vocabulary changes you've made are safe.

To update to version 1.06, download and run IP_update.exe (804 KB).
